Class 55 Locomotive
Built by English Electric between 1961 and 1962, 22 of these 105 tonnes, 100 mph locos were produced.
Powered by two Napier Deltic T18-25 engines producing 1650 hp at 1500 rpm, the electric transmission was delivered through six EE 538 axle-hung traction motors.
The one piece fibre glass moulded body of this 5” Gauge model, can be mounted on either fabricated side frame bogies or cast type, depending on preference.
